Arkansas Electrical License Renewal
License Renewal Periods and Fees:
- Master Electrician:
- Renewal Options: 1, 2, or 3 years
- Fee: $50 per year
- Journeyman Electrician:
- Renewal Options: 1, 2, or 3 years
- Fee: $25 per year
Continuing Education Requirements:
- Master and Journeyman Electricians:
- Complete 8 hours of continuing education (CE) during each National Electrical Code (NEC) cycle.
- The current NEC cycle is three years; ensure CE hours are completed within this period.
- Complete Continuing Education: Finish the required 8 hours of CE within the current NEC cycle.
- Submit Renewal Application: Renew your license online through the Arkansas Department of Labor’s portal.
- Pay Renewal Fee: Fees are based on your chosen renewal period (1, 2, or 3 years).
If you fail to renew within 36 months after the expiration date, you may reinstate your license by paying:
- The renewal fee.
- A late fee equal to one year of the renewal fee plus $10 for each calendar month between the expiration date and the renewal application date.
- Any outstanding monetary civil penalties.
- An additional penalty of $1,000 if the license has been expired for more than 36 months.
