Maryland Electrical License Renewal
License Renewal Period:
- All electrical licenses in Maryland are valid for two years from the date of issuance.
- Master Electricians:
- Complete 10 hours of continuing education (CE) during each two-year license period.
- At least 5 hours must be obtained through in-person classroom instruction.
- Journeyperson Electricians:
- Complete 5 hours of CE during each two-year license period.
- All 5 hours may be completed online.
- Complete Continuing Education: Ensure you finish the required CE hours within the current license period.
- Submit Renewal Application: Renew your license online through the Maryland Department of Labor’s eLicensing portal.
- Pay Renewal Fee: Include the necessary renewal fee with your application.
- Maintain Records: Keep certificates of completion for all CE courses, as they may be required for verification.
