About the video
This lesson provides an overview of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), focusing on their history, components, and functions in industrial automation. You’ll learn about the evolution of PLCs from electromechanical relay circuits to modern programmable devices, and how they simplify complex automation tasks. The video explains the main components of a PLC system—inputs, processor, and outputs—and how they work together to automate control processes. Using the example of an automatic dishwasher, the lesson illustrates how PLCs take inputs, perform logic operations, and control outputs to manage various industrial applications efficiently.
