In an episode of Dilbert, they described “the knack” as being “a rare condition by which someone has an extreme intuition about all things mechanical and electrical” where they can identify technical problems just by visualizing or examining the system. Is troubleshooting a learned skill? Is it something that you can develop over time? Or do you just have to have “the knack” for these kinds of things?
