We’ve all heard the bad stories about the death and injury that resulted from workers taking unnecessary chances while working on construction sites or doing service work. Some of us also have situations and stories of things that we wish we never did even though we came out of it unscathed. Sometimes it was oblivious dumb luck and other times it was just stubborn stupidity. Eventually we reach that moment of reckoning where we realize how foolish our actions really were. We lived to tell the tale but we still know that no amount of “survival” can excuse what we did or didn’t do that created a safety hazard.
